SUGAR RAY LEONARD BRINGS FIGHT TO NADA’S MAIN EVENT

Punching points: Keynoter Sugar Ray Leonard
|
February 3, 2007— Former Olympic champion and five-time World Boxing champ Sugar Ray Leonard reminded dealers that to be successful, to do your best, you must be a determined fighter. Know your competitors, know your dreams, but you need to do the road work to succeed, said Leonard. “It’s what separates champions from contenders.”
“[Always] keep your composure—don’t get taken out of your game plan,” Leonard advised. “Respond to setbacks; you can’t build success until you know failure.”
Leonard encouraged dealers to “walk the walk of a champion, with confidence and self worth—people will be drawn to you.” “Turning dreams into reality is victory,” noted Leonard, who has had great post-boxing success as head of the nonprofit Sugar Ray Youth Foundation and as a national spokesman for DARE, law enforcements’ outreach to young people on avoiding drugs.
